I am a passionate gamer and researcher, always curious and on a journey of studying video games to make them more fun, more engaging and making an impact on our lives in a positive and prosocial way.
My perspective on games is mostly analytical, which is due to my academic career as a psychologist M.Sc. at the University of Twente. I specialized on applied cognitive and media psychology, refined with consumer psychology and a minor at the ArtEZ Institute of the Arts. My next stop was the Gameslab Berlin, research center for digital games and right now. After that, I was working as a User Research Analyst for Bigpoint. Currently, I am busy with my PhD at the Engage Research Lab at the University of the Sunshine Coast in Australia. My mission is to uncover hidden links between video games and wellbeing and to create research deliverables as well as real game experiences, which promote positive psychological and social functioning.
